Abstract The problem of seepage under concrete dams was studied numerically using finite difference code in MATLAB, after verification with GeoStudio (2018 R2) to determine the lift force dams, head at third floor each and exit gradients, which all affect functionality these dams. main goal this study investigate effects cutoff locations depths on gradient uplift pressure. An empirical equation thus developed predict by employing gene expression programming (GEP) non-linear regression IBM SPSS based parameters obtained from code. Multiple (327) runs were executed for a set between upstream downstream (H=10 m) withvarious cutoffs depth (d/b), kx/ky = 1 representing isotropic soil. For d/b value, various (x/b) also used, results indicating that minimum is observed when location ratio x /b=1 maximum relative d /b=0.6, while pressure /B=0, d1/B=0.1. further indicate length /d 2 1. This decrease as increases.
